Fabiana's Quince
A quinceañera portrait session built around one word from the client: dreamy.
The ask
Photograph Fabiana and her family so the day felt like a fairytale, soft, romantic, cinematic, without losing the real people inside the fantasy.
The approach
I treated it as a portrait series with an arc. Solo hero frames first, while the look was untouched and the nerves were still fresh, then family. I directed movement instead of poses, walk, turn, breathe, and shot long and shallow so the background fell away into color and she stayed the sharpest thing in frame.
The challenge
Harsh open sun, a wardrobe change on a fixed schedule, and large family groupings. I built the shot order around the light: sun behind her for glow, open shade for the clean portraits, and groups staged in tiers so nobody disappeared behind anyone else. The outfit change was slotted against a location move so the schedule bought us time instead of spending it.
The outcome
A gallery her family will print, and a portrait set that looks like the version of the day she had been picturing since the planning started.
A milestone this big deserves images that live up to how it actually felt.
